We drove in silence , the kind of silence that’s is peaceful and comfortable.

You didn’t say anything , you didnt need to . You knew that’s not what I needed.

So we drove .

We drove so far that we could no longer see the city lights . I rolled down the passenger side window and let the cool night breeze wash over my senses.

In a blur we left behind a world filled with a thousand voices, Voices that never sleep .

We drove towards Stream songs and cricket choirs.

The way you looked highlighted by only the moon forever etched in to my memory.

And when you pulled over to take me in to the comfort of your embrace , I felt a shift of weight off my shoulders .

I could feel the rhythm of your heartbeat slow and steady and sure. I remember thinking that with you I’ll never be alone .

I could have stayed like that for the rest of my days …

But the darkness is cruel .

They took you from me.
